Supreme 90 Day Workout Check In

It's Day 16 of this 90 Day workout program and I have to say that it's been far more challenging than I had initially anticipated. Which isn't to say that I embarked on this workout as a flight of fancy. I wanted to be challenged. I just thought that, with my considerable hi impact/muscle conditioning/bootcamp class load, I would be a tough audience. I mean, I challenge myself with every class I teach. Was it possible that this 90 Day Program could make me sweat and groan?

Yep. To my shock and delight, this is an incredibly hard, smart, consistently interesting program. I am already seeing changes in my body from the inside out. My arms were always pretty good, but, now they're far more toned and sculpted. My endurance is also getting even stronger. I thought I had decent endurance before, but, now it's even more so! NEVER saw that one coming...Read more...

Why am I doing the Supreme 90 Day workout?

Yes. I've started a new At Home workout plan.

Yes. It's one of those "As Seen on TV" DVD Workout Plans.

No. I didn't see" The Supreme 90 Day Fitness System" infomercial on TV. Running from gym to gym to teach I barely have time to shower and change between classes never mind sitting down in front of the tube for longer than the 30 minutes it takes me to watch a TiVo-ed episode of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and pass out from exhaustion.

Where'd You Hear About it then, Lynn?
I stumbled across an article about it in a Fitness Magazine at one of my gyms. I was running the front desk and started flipping through the magazine when "BAM"...it sorta jumped out at me.Read more...

The Carmaggeddon Workout

Beginning at Midnight tonight, the I-405 will be closed in both directions from I-10 to Hwy 101 until 5am Monday morning. Carmaggeddon is Imminent! It ain't gonna be pretty out there, kids. If you don't have to hit the road...DON'T, because I have to and I want as few cars on the road as possible. Thx fer that, in advance.

There is an extremely good chance that this weekend is going to suck.

Many of us will be trapped in our cars, crammed behind the steering wheel as air conditioning blasts inconceivably unhealthy air into our steely eyes which may be fixed on a virtual wall to wall carpeting of fuming automobiles, stretching for miles. Our hands gripping the wheel tighter as we determine to "Just Get Through This Thing."

Our bodies slowly cramping up as we inch forward and then...wait again. 3 hours to a 30 minute destination. The lower back slowly, surely, tightening into a stony fist jamming into the tailbone. The shoulders stiffen up and raise on their own accord to become an odd, tense set of earrings jammed beneath our ears. Whoah! What's going with our thighs?! Getting tighter and tighter with each passing minute. And for some, unfathomable reason, our feet are killing us!

It sounds like something the Inquisition could've used back in the Day.

Well, have no fear! Your Instigator is here to help you out!

Let's turn this Car-tastrophe into a Fabulous Car Staycation!Read more...

BODY ROCK SPIN

Exclusively designed by Lynn Oprie

The time has come to put a new twist on an already favorite workout. And I’m just the woman to do it….

We all know that Spinning (Indoor Cycling) is a phenomenal workout. A hardcore 60 min. set can burn 500-700 calories. Not bad, huh? It’s a tried and true type of workout that is, hands down, one the most highly effective ways to churn and burn the calories away.

But, I think it’s time to rev things up a bit and put the Spin on Spinning.
